Gucci Summer Campaigns

I first started working for GUCCI in 1996, it was a love affair like no other. The history and tradition, the smell of the nappa and the iconic GG logo, I was hooked. I prided myself on presenting that boutique as per Italy’s specifications. The lillies had to be just right, the scarves and ties all merchandised exactly the same as they were in Rome and New York. It cultivated an eye for detail within me, for aesthetic perfection. My love for all things luxury and quality continued and I had the pleasure of  working for such global labels as FENDI, Salvatorre Ferragamo, Versace and Polo Ralph Lauren.

My career with GUCCI ended around the same time of Tom Fords departure. I was devastated to hear of his leaving and  I fondly remember parting with 4 weeks wages for his iconic satin ‘Military’ style blouse in hot fushia pink. (as shown in blue)

The arrival of Frida Giannini has injected a freshness into the label. I love her ability to look back and reintroduce the retro traditions, especially the bamboo handle and traditional green and red stripe. But it’s the campaigns that leave me feverish, the chic beach side locations, the smooth lounge music. The fusion of GUCCI and a coastal shoot is pure heaven.
